Black, white, and green tea all come from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. The leaf colors show the amount of wilting and oxidation they have been through. Green and white tea contains an abundant amount of polyphenols (which are antioxidant plant elements that have health benefits). Scientific research has been conducted on more green tea than white, but studies suggest that white tea has more benefits in terms of cancer protection.

Green tea goes through a bit more processing than white tea. The processing of white tea complies with fast steaming and then drying. Green tea is partially fermented. They both are treated gently and rarely over processed, they have both kept most of their beneficial antioxidants.

The Benefits of Green Tea

The University of Maryland Center says that green tea can help stop the spreading of cancer cells in many forms of the disease, including breast, prostate, esophageal, and stomach. The medical center also says that green tea shows results in preventing atherosclerosis and high cholesterol, which both have the ability to change to heart disease. It can also lead to a fat-burning process that promotes weight loss. In 2012, it was found that it can even promote good dental health that reduces inflammation and bacteria that links with gum disease.

The Benefits of White Tea

White tea comes from China. Its leaves and buds wither in the sun during its growing process. They are harvested early and the leaves and buds are processed to prevent oxidation. This process preserves the flavor of the tea.

As for white tea it has great advantages over cancer versus green tea. Studies from Linus Pauling Institute in 2000 performed test on four types of white tea on rats to study their benefits on colon cancer protection. White tea has higher content of polyphenols than green tea. It also reduces harm that is done to DNA. White tea has a group of antioxidants that are proven to reduce cholesterol, decrease blood pressure, repair vein tissue, and general cardiovascular function.

It has been proven that white tea in animals was more resistant to Salmonella. The antioxidants of white tea help boost the immune system in both humans and animals.

This amazing tea has also shown to work against the growth of cancer cells. It has often worked better than some prescription drugs in providing the body with antioxidants.

White tea can also thin the blood and improve artery function which in turn is good against high blood pressure. Drinking this substance can protect your body against a common sickness known as the stroke. This generally only works when you routinely drink the tea every day, and a few times a day.

When Considering Your Options

Green and White tea have far less caffeine than black tea and coffee. White tea has the least amount of caffeine which is about thirty to fifty-five milligrams per cup. Green Tea contains about thirty-five to seventy milligrams of caffeine per cup. It has also been proven that adding a lemon, soy sauce, or rice milk to green tea greatly enhances the body’s absorption of its antioxidants.

Hot brewed tea contains greater concentrations of polyphenols than iced tea or different bottled teas.

My Experience

My personal experience with green and white tea has been great. I feel a lot healthier than I normally would. I have also ceased to drink sodas anymore, so that possibly has something to do with it. It is often hard to find things that are so good for you that don’t have side effects. So when you do find something such as white tea or green tea, you should probably take the first opportunity to get your hands on some of it.
